Basic Rhythm Guitar - Tied Notes These next examples will involve the use of tied notes. A tied notes "value" or duration is absorbed by the note it is tied to. If an eight note worth one half a beat, is tied to another eight note the total duration of the first eight note would be 1 beat. This concept will seem easier to understand if you listen to the examples.
